Join art educator Laura Nicholls for an engaging presentation about artist Faith Ringgold to celebrate Black History Month. Born in Harlem, Faith Ringgold was a contemporary artist and writer, perhaps best known for her narrative quilts. As a fervent Civil Rights and gender equity activist, Ringgold’s quilts tell stories of American lifestyle and illustrate racial interactions from a female point of view. The quilts are delightful to look at, explore, relate to, and learn from.
